Qlik Replicate import / Import using tool executable file instead of REST API As we investigated the Qlik Replicate REST API we found that is does not support some important features. The tool can provide the lineage from the operations history which contains the real physical names involved. It is the only way to reconstruct the lineage for some global rules. Thus, we have improved the bridge to be able get data directly via the exactable file. I.e. the bridge now uses an addition miscellaneous option to Replicate the installation directory. Please understand that this method will work only on a machine where both MIMB and Replicate are installed under default Machine base security level when all data is encrypted with local machine keys. MIMB troubleshooting package Here is the email Simon sent to Microsoft describing the feature. They approved the proposal. MITI noticed many issues took us too long to resolve because Microsoft needed to provide troubleshooting details when filling out issues. It is not entirely Microsoft's fault, as it is not effortless to produce a complete troubleshooting package today. Here are typical difficulties we experienced with troubleshooting packages: - Log is provided but without debug-level details - Import backup is provided without corresponding Log - Log and Import backup produced by different imports - Necessary MIR XMI files are missing or do not match the Import Backup or Log - A Purview JSON payload differences issue is missing before and/or after payloads MITI would like to help Microsoft and other partners provide troubleshooting packages efficiently by introducing a new MIMB Driver feature that allows generating a troubleshooting package with all necessary details using one option. A troubleshooting package will include: - Import source backup - Imported MIR XMI - Import and export Debug-level Log - Export bridge-produced files The driver has a new option to generate a troubleshooting package. The option allows the caller to specify the Directory where MIMB can gather all the necessary information and zip it up at the end of the run. It configures the import bridge to pass the proper misc parameter to perform the backup and import and export bridges to log debug-level messages. At the end of the MIMB run, the directory will contain the troubleshooting package zip file the customer should provide to the vendor. The zip file name depicts the MIMB version, import and export bridge IDs, and date/time (e.g., MIMB_1110_Erwin_Purview_2024_01_12_11_33.zip). It should allow Purview to have the Generate Troubleshooting Package checkbox UI option that allows Microsoft and its customers to collect all necessary troubleshooting information to reproduce the issue and, if necessary, provide it to MITI.
