Analyze Versions

Overview

In some cases, one may wish to use the Repository to maintain a Version history for each Harvest or Upload of a Model. These Versions are individual objects within the Repository and represent the object's contents at a specific point in time.

The Administrator may manage any number of Versions. When using the MetaKarta UI, you will always be working with one version at a time. Because of this feature of this user interface MetaKarta also provides additional repository management functions. Creating configurations and version management of existing configurations (including publishing) may only be accomplished using the MANAGE > Repository feature, but is also available in the MANAGE > Configuration for models already included in that configuration.

Viewing the Version History

Steps

  1. Sign in as a user with at least the Metadata Management capability object role assignment on the Configuration you are in.

  2. Go to the MANAGE > Configuration.

  3. Click the Versions tab.

The list will show the version history.

Example

Sign in as Administrator and go to Go to the MANAGE > Configuration.

Click the Accounts Payable model.

Click IMPORT. Click IMPORT again without checking any boxes. After the process has completed, go to the Versions tab.

The current version (in bold) in the current configuration that you are viewing is generally automatically updated to include the latest version of a contained model. This automation may be turned off by an Administrator.

Right-click the older version and specify it as the default.

Right-click on the older version and click Switch to this version.
